Progress indication mechanism is refactored to support incrementing progress within multithreaded algorithms.
The class Message_ProgressIndicator is only an interface to the user application.
It accumulates the progress provided by progress scopes.
The counter is protected by mutex for thread-safety.
The new class Message_ProgressScope replacing Message_ProgressSentry should be used to advance the progress.
The scopes are nested to each other to reflect the nested nature of operations.
The new class Message_ProgressRange should be used to pass the progress to sub-scopes.
All OCCT algorithms involving progress indication have been updated to new API.
Improvements in Draw_ProgressIndicator:
- Separate console mode has been added in order to make possible to put the progress into std::cout instead
or in addition to the draw interpreter, instead of trigger option "-tclOutput".
- Treatment of Ctrl-Break signal has been added.
Now any operation can be aborted by Ctrl-C or Ctrl-Break keystroke.
Added new test case 'perf fclasses progr_par' for testing of parallel work of the progress.
Draw_Interpretor, CommandCmd() - catched exceptions and messages put into Tcl string result
before throwing a Tcl exception (return 1) are now print in intense red (using Message::SendFail()).
Duplication of exception message in std::cout and Tcl output has been removed.
Draw Harness plugins have been updated to use either Message::SendFail() or theDI instead of std::cout/std::cerr
for printing colored error message before throwing a Tcl exception.
BRepClass/BRepClass_FaceExplorer.cxx:
Protection against intersection of test ray with almost parallel edges is added.
SWDRAW/SWDRAW_ShapeFix.cxx: add tolerance as parameter in command checkfclass2d
tests/bugs/modalg_7/bug31203:
test case is added
Warnings issued by gcc 8.1.0 are eliminated.
New Standard_WarningDisableFunctionCast.hxx header file is introduced to disable GCC warning "-Wcast-function-type" in those files *.cxx where it is issued. This warning is issued when the conversion from the pointer to one function type to the pointer to another function type takes places, it was added in gcc 8.1.0.
The function MyVISEDG in SWDRAW_ShapeAnalysis.cxx is removed as it does not seem to do anything useful and relevant DRAW command K_VISEDG is never used in tests.
- Fixed condition to allow proceeding of nested compounds;
- Added new key to "reshape" draw command to state a level of type until which requests are taken into account;
- Test case added.
"endl" manipulator for Message_Messenger is renamed to "Message_EndLine".
The following entities from std namespace are now used
with std:: explicitly specified (from Standard_Stream.hxx):
std::istream,std::ostream,std::ofstream,std::ifstream,std::fstream,
std::filebuf,std::streambuf,std::streampos,std::ios,std::cout,std::cerr,
std::cin,std::endl,std::ends,std::flush,std::setw,std::setprecision,
std::hex,std::dec.
Implementation of the method for simplification of the result of Boolean Operation on the API level.
The method BRepAlgoAPI_BuilderAlgo::SimplifyResult has been added, so the derived classes such as BooleanOpeation and Splitter can also use this method.
The result shape simplification should be called after the operation is done. The simplification is performed by the means of ShapeUpgrade_UnifySameDomain algorithm.
Draw command "bsimplify" has been added to control the simplification options.
Documentation for new functionality and draw commands controlling the options of Boolean operations.
Test cases for the new functionality.
Side-effect change:
The algorithms in Boolean component have been changed to use the BRepTools_History as a History tool.
Now it became possible to disable the collection of shapes modifications during Boolean Operations, which may be useful for performance sake (in draw the option is controlled by *setfillhistory* command).
Draw command "unifysamedom" has been changed to accept the angular tolerance in degrees instead of radians.
Implementation of the mechanism for unification of the history commands for all OCCT algorithms.
The following Draw commands should be used to track the history of shapes modifications of any operation:
- modified - to find the shapes modified from the given shape in the given history.
- generated - to find the shapes generated from the given shape in the given history.
- isdeleted - to check if the given shape has been deleted during operation.
The mechanism allows fast & easy enabling of the DRAW history support for the algorithms supporting the history on the API level (i.e. the algorithm should have the methods Modified(), Generated() and IsDeleted()).
To enable the draw history support it is necessary to store the history of the algorithm into the session. For instance:
TopTools_ListOfShape Objects = ...; // Objects
TopTools_ListOfShape Tools = ...; // Tools
BRepAlgoAPI_Cut aCut(Objects, Tools); // Boolean cut operation
BRepTest_Objects::SetHistory(Objects, aCut); // Store the history for the Objects (overwrites the history in the session)
BRepTest_Objects::AddHistory(Tools, aCut); // Add the history for the Tools
To get the stored history in draw the command "savehistory" should be used. It saves the history kept in session into a Drawable object with the given name:
# perform cut
bcut r s1 s2
# save history of cut
savehistory cut_history
explode s1 f
modified m cut_history s1_1
The Draw History commands of the following algorithms have been removed:
- Boolean Operations;
- Defeaturing;
- Unify same domain;
- Sweep;
- Thrusections;
All these algorithms have been switched to support the new Draw history mechanism.
The Fillet and Blend algorithms have been also enabled to support history commands.
DRAW command fixsmallfaces is added to fix (remove) small faces in the shape.
Command OCC22586 is removed (replaced by fixsmallfaces).
Test bug28112_2 using that command is added for the two last shapes in issue #28112; test bug28112 is renamed to bug28112_1.
Test bug22586 is changed to use the new command.
'BRepTools_History' history was implemented for algorithm
'ShapeUpgrade_UnifySameDomain'.
The history of the changing of the initial shape was corrected to consider all
shapes created by the algorithm as modified shapes instead of generated ones.
The old history interface was replaced by the new one:
- to get the modified shapes use: History()->Modified();
- to check if the shapes has been deleted use: History()->IsRemoved().
Subdivision of curve parametric interval based on deflection criteria is added for curve type OtherCurve in
Extrema_GExtPC.gxx. Algorithm of subdivision is implemented in Extrema_Curve(2d)Tool.cxx
New Draw command projpcurve for projection of point on CurveOnSurface is added in SWDRAW_ShapeAnalysis.cxx
projpcurve is modified to reflect "start parameter" in usage message and Draw help.
- The option SafeInputMode has been added in the class ShapeUpgrade_UnifySameDomain. If it is set then the input shape is protected against modifications of any aspects of its sub-shapes. Default value is true.
- The option "-nosafe" has been added in draw command "unifysamedom". If it is not set the algorithm is run with SafeInputMode switched off.
- The methods "Modified" and "IsDeleted" have been added for history support in "ShapeUpgrade_UnifySameDomain" class.
- The new Draw commands "unifysamedommod" and "unifysamedomisdel" have been added.
- Adoption of other algorithms using this one to its new behavior.

Add check on empty topological containers.
Add empty shapes to the replacement map.
Add Draw command for Re-Shape.
Add a test grid for reshape with a single use case for starters.
Method BRepLib::EncodeRegularity() is improved to set regularity GeomAbs_CN for edges lying on the same-domain surfaces (where derivatives on both surfaces are equal in all points).
DRAW command getedgeregularity is added to query regularity of the edge on specified faces.
DRAW command edgeregul is removed (this functionality is provided by command encoderegularity).
Added tests: bugs modalg_6 bug27272, bug27383_1, bug27383_2
Correction of shape name in test case for issue CR27272
The new option AllowInternalEdges has been added in the class ShapeUpgrade_UnifySameDomain. It determines how the algorithm treats the situation when two faces can be merged together but they have connection with another face via the common edge.
With this option turned on, merging of such faces is not stopped, but the multiconnected edges are added to the merged face as INTERNAL edges.
By default it is false. In this mode such merging is forbidden, so the result shape will not contain any new INTERNAL edges.
The behavior of the algorithm has been changed so that it does not merge faces from different shells.
Automatic upgrade of OCCT code by command "occt_upgrade . -nocdl":
- WOK-generated header files from inc and sources from drv are moved to src
- CDL files removed
- All packages are converted to nocdlpack
Code corrected to avoid ambiguous situations due to changed implementation of Handle (overloaded methods accepting handles of different types).
In Adaptor3d_CurveOnSurface added method Load() with two parameters, allowing to avoid ambiguity of cast of handles when calling separate methods Load() for curve and surface, replacing by single call.
In DrawTrSurf and IGESData_IGESWriter, template variants of methods Set() and Send(), respectively, are added to avoid ambiguity when these methods are called with handles to derived types (using SFINAE).
In NCollection_DefineHSequence, method Append() accepting handle to another HSequence is made template, to be available only if argument has compatible type.
A tool to remove tails from the wires of a shape was created.
The tool is based on mechanism 'ShapeFix',
is located in types 'ShapeFix_Wire' and 'ShapeAnalysis_Wire',
is enabled through method 'ShapeFix_Wire::FixTailMode' and
is initialized by methods 'ShapeFix_Wire::SetMaxTailAngle' and 'ShapeFix_Wire::SetMaxTailWidth' and
is called through method 'ShapeFix_Wire::FixTails'.
The status of any performing of the last method is accessible through method 'ShapeFix_Wire::StatusFixTails'.
The tail angle is checked only at the tail start.
Mechanism 'ShapeFix' was modified:
- the tool is disabled by default;
- algorithm 'Fix notched edges' is disabled then the tool is enabled;
- the tool and the last algorithm work in turns then the tool works on the request.
'Draw' command 'fixshape' was extended by options '-maxtaila' and '-maxtailw' to test the tool.
'Draw' tests to test the tool were created.
Algorithm 'fixshape' was changed in type 'ShapeProcess_OperLibrary' to
- use new parameters named 'FixTailMode', 'MaxTailAngle' (in degrees) and 'MaxTailWidth' from the algorithm context;
- apply the tool after the shape will be fully fixed if the tool was enabled.
Place holders for the new parameters were created in the resource file of mechsnism 'STEPControl_Reader'.
